13 year old me played a lot of Minecraft. One day after school, I stumbled upon a video showcasing a Minecraft cheat mod. This was the stuff of legends, granting powers beyond the wildest dreams of mere mortals. Flying, teleportation, infinite life. Alas, the download link was nowhere to be found.

At the time, I was starting to get interested in programming, and after the tenth rewatch, I spotted the developper’s email hidden in a corner of the screen. I reached out, inquiring if they would be so kind as to share their secrets and teach me how to build a Minecraft cheat mod.

And they did! They taught me how to code, beginning with basic concepts and progressively unveiling more. This spanned the course of several years and very many Skype calls. I built my own mod and eventually, we combined our efforts, merging our mods, sharing exploits.

We then released it and sent it to a Minecraft cheat mods influencer (they exist lol). Downloads soared and, to this day, this probably remains one of the most used pieces of code I wrote.
